Getting Around
Today's Bible Verse
How Do You Pay For These Projects?

Controlling the cost of ministry

The first part of the answer has more to do with what we don't pay. Half of the cost of construction work is labor. Since our tradesmen and craftsmen are volunteers (with a few exceptions), we can cut the labor expense on our projects to the bone. Some new building materials are donated as well as several still serviceable used fixtures, doors and windows. The things we don't pay for help a lot.

But we can't control everything

Most of our projects are extensive enough to require city or county permits. There is no way around that. Government is going to get its money first. Some construction permits cost hundreds of dollars. That's just the way it is and there's really no way to control that.

Volunteers who come to Henderson from other areas to work need food and shelter. Those basic needs start adding up with a dozen hungry workers to feed.

We have equipment to maintain, fasteners and hardware to provide, vehicles that break and all the other things that routinely need attention. We use an old warehouse and office for our hub. Although it's no showroom, it serves adequately for the purpose intended although it needs quite a lot of repair and renovation.

Then there is insurance, utility bills, gas and several other expenses that cannot be neglected. We get by with as limited an internal budget as possible to provide the most for the external ministry as possible. That is the basic Rebuilding Hope attitude.

Sharing our vision

door

Christian ministry is this simple:   Meet people at their point of need with the love of Christ.

For Rebuilding Hope, the point of need is home repairs. Our ministry will work only through the generosity of people who share our vision and realize the eternal potential to be realized through the work of Rebuilding Hope.

An invitation

Rebuilding Hope invites you to become part of what we do in and around Henderson North Carolina. Maybe your church or fellowship group has undertaken a repair project for a church member or as a local outreach. united If so, you understand what it's like to minister with your hands as well as with your heart and voice. Feels good!

The number of projects we have already assessed are in various phases of completion. Some are waiting on materials such as shingles, plywood and fixtures. But most jobs are waiting on hands to be put to the work. To see what we have going on, go to the projects website and run through the list. If you find a project you like, use one of the Contact Us forms to get more information or to ask question about that job.
